Frequently asked questions
ZinoBiotic+ contains a blend of eight dietary fibers, including resistant starch from corn, potatoes, and green bananas, beta‑glucans from oats, inulin, fructo‑oligosaccharides (FOS), psyllium husk, and guar gum. These fibers are fermented in the colon, where they contribute to various digestive processes. Consumption of resistant starch instead of digestible starch contributes to the reduction of the normal rise in blood glucose after meals, and oat beta‑glucans contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. Other fiber products on the market generally contain only one or two types of dietary fibers, while ZinoBiotic+ provides a broader blend.
FOS (fructooligosaccharides) is a type of dietary fiber that consists of relatively short chains of glucose and fructose. We use FOS from chicory root in ZinoBiotic+. When it comes to intolerance, it is impossible to offer a yes or no answer as everyone reacts differently. We suggest trying a small dose to begin with. If there is no reaction, increase the dosage towards the recommended dose of 1-2 scoops per day.
There is no definite yes or no answer to this. The ingredients in ZinoBiotic+ are highly purified, and the carbohydrate fractions do not contain measurable amounts of banana proteins. However, people with very intense allergies to bananas can react to levels of an allergen that even sensitive analytical systems cannot detect. If you have a banana allergy, we recommend consulting your healthcare professional before using this product.
ZinoBiotic+ has a very low glycemic index (GI), almost equal to zero. This means it has little impact on blood sugar levels compared to foods with a higher GI. If you have diabetes or any medical condition, you should consult your healthcare professional before using this product.
Yes. ZinoBiotic+ contains selected beta‑glucans from oats that have been tested to meet gluten‑free standards*. ZinoBiotic+ also contains a resistant starch blend, including corn, potatoes, and green bananas.
*Product contains less than 20 mg/kg verified by testing and is conidered gluten-free acc.to EU regulations.
ZinoBiotic+ contains a resistant starch blend including corn with Omega-6. How can that be good for me?
Omega-6 from nutritionally rich sources is nothing to worry about and the amount in ZinoBiotic+ is very small. It is important to remember that Omega-6 is an essential fatty acid that our body needs to function properly.
Heat treatment can lead to a slight change in the fiber structure, but ZinoBiotic+ can be used in hot oatmeal. For best results, it is recommended to stir in a scoop of ZinoBiotic+ after the oatmeal is cooked, rather than boiling it together with the oats.
You may start with a smaller amount of ZinoBiotic+ for 1–2 weeks. If there is no reaction, the intake can be gradually increased to 1–2 scoops per day. Collagen Boozt is another option, containing 2.2 grams of prebiotic fiber mainly inulin from chicory root, and postbiotics (Plenibiotic™) from lactic acid bacteria. Starting with Collagen Boozt may provide a way to introduce prebiotic fiber and postbiotics gradually, without adding the full amount of fiber at once. If you are particularly sensitive to the fiber inulin, Collagen Boozt may not be a better option, as it contains slightly more inulin than ZinoBiotic+.
