In order to bear the claim, information shall be given to the consumer that the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil.

A ingestão de ácido docosahexaenóico (DHA) pela mãe contribui para o desenvolvimento normal do cérebro do feto e dos bebés amamentados. As mulheres grávidas e lactantes devem ser informadas de que o efeito benéfico é obtido com uma dose diária de 200 mg de DHA, para além da dose diária recomendada de ácidos gordos ómega-3 para adultos, ou seja, 250 mg de DHA e EPA. A alegação só pode ser utilizada para alimentos que forneçam uma dose diária de, pelo menos, 200 mg de DHA.
